What is included in the tour price?
Once we begin our discussions with your group leaders to customize your tour we put your itinerary together to make the trip as easy and as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved. We include your airfare, lodging, in-country transportation, bilingual guides, breakfast and dinner, all adventures, ecotours, and game associated fees (field rentals and referees, fruits, drinks, and laundry).
What is not included in your tour price?
Lunches (typically under $10), Costa Rican departure tax ($28), and souvenirs or alcoholic beverages.
How far in advance to I need to pay?
We like to begin the planning of your tour at least 6 months in advance of your departure. At this time we require a $100 per person deposit in order to reserve lodging and airfare. Four months before your departure date we require 50% of the total and 2 months the Final 50% payment for your tour.
When is the best time to visit Costa Rica?
We operate tours year round, but the most popular months to travel are November through September. September - October are the wettest months. Learn more about Costa Rica's weather.
Do I need a Passport?
Citizens of the USA may enter Costa Rica with only a valid passport but do not need a visa. If you are traveling from another country please check the Costa Rican embassy web site: www.costarica-embassy.org
Is the water safe to drink?
Yes and it is encouraged to bring water bottles so we don't dispose of excess plastic.
Can I use my cell phone?
Check with your phone company to see if you have service in Costa Rica. Our guides always have phones and provide emergency contact numbers. We also will have computers with Skype.
Are ATM's Readily available?
Yes, however other than personal expenses you shouldn't need much extra cash. We encourage you to bring small bills ($20 or less) to change into Costa Rican Colones. At the end of the tour we will buy any unwanted colones back from you.
Are major credit cards widely accepted?
Yes.
What should I pack?
When packing for your trip to Costa Rica, keep in mind the climate is moderate to HOT .Temperatures between the central valley and the coast can differ by 30 degrees or more in a day. Tee shirts, shorts, lightweight clothes (breathable materials are best), light jacket or sweater, rain gear, closed toe shoes (sneakers, water shoes for rafting, socccer cleats, and running shoes), sandals, sun hat, swimsuit, soccer training gear, beach towel, sunglasses, and a camera.
Do I need a vacccination?
No vaccinations are required, but remember to bring extra: prescription drugs, allergy medication, aspirin, Advil , antacid tablets, and diarrhea medicine , sunscreen.
Do you provide medical insurance?
We do not provide medical insurance but we require all participants to have their own medical insurance while on the tour. Contact your insurance provider and make sure you are covered during your trip.
